10 ways that maybe you didn’t know that can help you with constipation.

Now that I have moved to the Netherlands, I have had a problem with constipation. Why? Because they have such small bathrooms that make me claustrophobic and I just cannot get my head around the place. I need more space in order to do my thing and the only place that I have found where I can do it in peace is a public bathroom 500 meters away from the house. On the other hand, I have found these 10 methods to get rid of constipation.

1.  Using prunes.

Prunes help to clear obstructions and as well they help the digestive system a lot. They have a sponge effect to absorbing water which can help to soften up the feces.

2.  Different Oils.

Any kind of organic oil, from olive to coconut is good if you are suffering from constipation. One teaspoon of oil in the morning, soon as you wake up and your stomach is empty, can do great help to relieve you.

3.  You favourite coffee.

I remember I would always have a coffee at a bar downstairs when I used to live in Tirana as a student and I would always get the urge to go to the bathroom and let myself be.

4.  Water.

My mom’s uncle would drink an average of 5 to 7 glasses of water after every meal. He would always say it helped.

5.  Dandelion tea.

This plant is known to help with constipation. Prepare some tea with its dry leaves and it will work just as a Laxative.

6.  Exercise.

Moving helps your body and your mind. It helps your digestive system and your heart. It is known to help also your ‘gut’ problem.

7.  Ingest probiotics rich food.

Eating foods like yoghurt can help a lot since it contains probiotics and helps the stools.

8.  Prebiotic food.

Eating onions or garlic which contain prebiotic help also.

9.  Noodles.

This cheap but delicious food contains glucomannan, which as fibre helps with the condition.

10. Finger pressure.

Put some pressure using two fingers below your stomach to help the stool go down and ready to go out.
