Priscilla Presley was recently seen in public for the first time since her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, died of intestinal obstruction on January 12, 2023.
Lisa is the daughter of Priscilla and her late ex-husband, musician and actor Elvis Presley. Priscilla was first shown on September 3, 2023, at the 80th International Film Festival in Venice, Italy.
The actress wore all black and had a solemn expression on her face. She wore wide-leg black pants and a cropped black blazer.
A leopard-pink silk blouse was tucked beneath the blazer. Priscilla finished off her ensemble with heels and a Chanel bag. The actress’s deep red hair was silky and straight all the way to her shoulders.
Priscilla was in Venice to see Sophia Coppola’s biopic “Priscilla” debut. The film, for which Sophia wrote the script based on Priscilla Presley’s 1985 biography “Elvis and Me,” will be released in theaters on October 27, 2023. The actress’s visit in Venice is her first in over a year. Her last public appearance was on January 10, 2023, at the Golden Globe Awards.
Priscilla looked stylish in her attire yet unhappy in Venice. She grasped on to her neck and seemed somber in one of the photos taken at her red carpet entrance. Fans who saw Priscilla’s photos were concerned about her health because of her appearance.
A fan described the actress as looking like something out of a horror film, with a ghostly visage. One fan wanted Priscilla could get rid of “the Pressley surname,” live her life, and “be free from him.” The fan also expressed regret that the actress would not date or remarry after Elvis died.
Online users felt sorry for Priscilla because she appeared forlorn and lost. Someone said she turned from being a gorgeous woman to becoming “Freakish.” Others commented that the actress appeared miserable, awful, and ghostly. The “Finding Graceland” actress’s appearance has alarmed viewers when she revealed details about her friendship with Elvis.
What Did Priscilla Say about Her Relationship with Elvis?
Priscilla has always kept her connection with Elvis discreet. After seeing her biopic, “Priscilla,” she spoke up about her late ex-husband, saying they met in 1959 when she was 14 and he was 24.
The actress stated that her parents couldn’t comprehend why Elvis would be interested in a relationship with her. She also revealed that she and Elvis never had intercourse when they first met since he respected her age of 14.
They did, however, talk a lot and formed a strong bond. In the partnership, the actress saw herself as a listener. Elvis told Priscilla about his mother’s death and expressed his hopes and anxieties.
Priscilla mentioned their connection as her attraction to Elvis, and she described him as sweet, tender, and caring. In exchange, Elvis admired Priscilla’s privacy. On May 1, 1967, the pair married.
On August 16, 1977, however, the actress lost Elvis. He died four years after their divorce, leaving behind his daughter, Lisa, who died in 2023 at the age of 54.
Priscilla Opened Up about Losing Her Daughter
Priscilla stated that she suspected something was wrong before her daughter died. Priscilla and Lisa attended the Golden Globes Awards at the Chateau Marmont on January 10, 2023. Lisa told her mother that her stomach hurt after they arrived, sat down, and ordered beverages.
The pair then stood up and walked away. Lisa’s ex-husband, actor-musician Danny Keough, called Priscilla two days later to tell her that her daughter was in the hospital. The actress rushed into a car, but her daughter had already died.
Priscilla stated that her daughter died of cardiac arrest at her Calabasas house in West Hills, California. Lisa died as a result of a tiny intestine obstruction caused by scar tissue, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. The scar tissue was formed by the actress’s daughter’s previous bariatric surgery.
Lisa’s death was so difficult for her mother that the actress stated that she would not wish such a loss on any mother.Priscilla said that she still can’t believe her own daughter, a singer and musician, is no longer with us.
