There has been ongoing chatter about Donald Trump’s health ever since he first took office. While he often mentions Joe Biden’s health as a concern, it seems now, eyes are turning towards Trump himself. Could he possibly be wearing a catheter?

During Trump’s initial return to the presidency, he faced numerous issues—from international disputes like the Greenland situation to deploying the National Guard in response to protests following his immigration policies in Los Angeles. However, amidst all these controversies, questions about Trump’s health and his capability to serve as President have grown louder.
In the recent presidential campaign, Kamala Harris opted to release her medical records publicly, while Trump chose not to disclose his. Despite this, he maintains that he’s in top physical and mental condition.
As it stands, Trump is the oldest American President to embark on a second term. According to an April medical report from White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella, Trump is deemed fit to lead.
The report detailed Trump’s height and weight at 75 inches and 224 pounds, with normal scans for his eyes, ears, neck, throat, and heart. Additionally, in 2024, he underwent a colonoscopy which revealed a benign polyp and diverticulitis, a known colon issue. A follow-up procedure has been scheduled for three years later.
Trump’s Medical Insights
The medical examination of Donald Trump showed he is on several medications. These include drugs for cholesterol, cardiac prevention, and a topical cream for a skin condition. Dr. Barbabella noted that Trump had undergone cataract surgery on both eyes and asserted that his heart, lungs, and general health are in excellent condition. He emphasized that Trump’s active lifestyle contributes positively to his overall health.
“President Trump presents with remarkable cognitive and physical health, completely capable of fulfilling the responsibilities as Commander-in-Chief,” Barbabella remarked in his April address.
Following his medical assessment, Trump mentioned, “I took a cognitive test, and I scored perfectly. There were many tests, related to my heart and other areas.”
Despite this, some remain skeptical about the truthfulness of Trump’s latest health examination. Recently, a picture of Trump at a UFC event on June 9 sparked concerns on social media platforms like X, Facebook, and TikTok, with users anxious about whether he might be wearing a catheter under his suit.
Speculations on Social Media
The viral picture captures fighter Kayla Harrison draping the UFC women’s bantamweight championship belt around Trump’s waist.
According to one post, “Trump seems to have leg braces and perhaps a catheter. The weakness on his right side has been noticeable for years. And the bruises on his hand could indicate some form of infusion therapy, consistent with a Parkinson’s-related condition.”
Another post suggested, “Trump is clearly wearing a Foley catheter. It drains urine into a bag strapped to the leg. The line on his pants? Not a crease, it’s tubing. His movements sound like the swish of a fluid-filled Capri Sun.”
These assertions gained traction online, though some defended Trump, arguing it wasn’t a catheter.
“That’s not the case. The outlined pant leg is simply a crease. Foley catheters are not standard unless post-surgery. Patients who are ambulatory use different methods,” one post countered.
But what exactly is a Foley catheter? The Cleveland Clinic describes it as “a device used to drain urine from the bladder. Health professionals use it if urinating is challenging. It might be necessary during post-surgery recovery. A healthcare provider can guide on usage and maintenance.”
Official White House Response
In response to the rumors, fact-checking platform Snopes explored the allegations of Trump wearing a catheter. White House spokesperson Steven Cheung dismissed these claims as false.
He stated in an email to Snopes, “The President has shown unmatched transparency, with the recent medical report clearly proving he is in peak health.”
Cheung condemned these reports as conspiracy theories spurred by those with “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” He criticized the media for providing such narratives a platform, claiming they inaccurately portrayed Joe Biden’s cognitive health.
